Festival Fashion

Photos found on Pinterest

With the recent release of the Coachella 2014 lineup, festival fashion has been running through my head non-stop. Of course the main focus of music festivals is the music itself. The incredible vibe that results from incessant melodies and tunes in the background. The headliners that you stand for hours in one place just to get a good spot in the insane crowd. But along with the music comes the people, and with the people comes a variety of style, creative outfits, and endless inspiration. Here's a little look into past festival outfits. All the details matter- nail color, jewels adorning delicate fingers and collarbones, patterns, crochet, hairstyles, hats, unexpected accessories, everything! A music festival is the one place that you can experiment with absolutely anything fashion related. Embrace the diversity and appreciate the asymmetry. Cheers to festival season 2014!

Spent the last Saturday of break in one of my favorite places in Atlanta. Westside Provisons is the perfect place for a casual, laid back day or afternoon. This spot has some awesome stores (Free People, J Crew, Anthropologie, Lulu Lemon) and restaurants! And the best part about it? Dogs welcome!!! We brought our two dogs into all the stores that we dropped by :) And of course we had to stop by one of Atlanta's best-kept secrets, Sublime Doughnuts. Holy cow can I eat these every day? Probably shouldn't. This last day of break called for a good outfit that matched the mood. These BCBGeneration printed jeans are so fun and open up so many outfit options. I can't wait to play around with them. And a light sweater is perfect for the roller coaster Georgia weather that we experience on a day-to-day basis. A solid pair of combats and you're there. I can't wait to come back to this little hang out when the weather gets warmer. Until then, I'll be bundled up in layers and layers with hot cocoa readily available.

PS: Today is "Gotcha Day" for cute little Milly featured in the photos above! It's been a year since my sister rescued this precious babe. Can't love her enough. Happy Gotcha Day Milly!! XO

New Year, New Tunes

New year, new tunes? Two words: Moon Taxi. These guys have got it all- style, class, talent, and they're not too bad looking either. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, this band features many different sounds. They're rock. They're folk. They're indie. But one thing's for sure- these guys can jam. The best thing about Moon Taxi? Their music fits any occasion. I love listening to them on long car rides, I put their album on during hang outs, and I can even go for a run with their music pulsing in my ears. If you're on the search for new music, look into Moon Taxi. I promise they won't disappoint.

**A few of my favorite songs? Make sure to listen to Southern Trance, Whiskey Sunsets, Gunflower, River Water, & Morocco

PS: The band just released a live acoustic EP on December 17th. Check out the songs below featured on the new release. And buy a copy of Acoustic on West 56th on iTunes today for only $3.99!

My my my, what a city. This December, my mom, sister (<--check this babe out) and I journeyed to the oh-so-adored state of New York just before Christmas. For me, it was my first time in the magical city. And I must say that I couldn't have met this place at a better time. The streets were packed with the most interesting people I could ever imagine, buildings were adorned with incredibly beautiful lights and Christmas decorations, and the rooftops were just ever-so-slighty dusted with a thin sheet of snow. I mean seriously, there is inspiration every direction you look here. And if not inspiration, there is definitely something interesting to observe, guaranteed. We had the absolute best view from our 40th floor, and I loved pushing back the curtains in the morning revealing the amazing scene highlighted by the bright (and somewhat blinding) sun. Blessed by awesome weather, we covered as much turf as possible: Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, Soho, The Met, Central Park, Battery Park, and even a unintentional surprise pit stop in Brooklyn! And the cherry on top? The last night, I met two of my favorite bloggers at an event showcasing their brand new Modern Vice Croc Jett (which is amaze). Dylana and Natalie, you girls rock! Thanks for such a fun night :)
Thank you, New York (and mom) for such a wonderful experience. I hope to see you soon... and this time in shorts, sandals, and tanned skin.

Be sure to check out Dylana and Natalie Suarez and their undeniably inspirational selves!
